Hey everyone! It's been so long since I posted (though I continue to read everyone elses entries!) and I hope everyone is well.

First, thanks to everyone who helped me out with my queston about painting styrofoam. I opted to just use permanent markers. It was something I already had and it worked out great. I vended my first convention in October (which is why I was asking about styrofoam for my displays!) and it was a HUGE success for me. I've been slowly listing the leftovers on Etsy. Beneath the cut you'll find photos of the some of the items I made for the con. The leftovers, like I said, are on my Etsy and I'll have a link to that as well at the bottom.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

It's perfect for him )

I decided that my family's fridge needed some magnets and after nearly 2 weeks of searching, I found some cute ones at borders. Problem is, they are not very strong. I was thinking of going to JoAnns or Michels to find some good magnets to glue to the back but I don't want to be duped again.

Does anyone know good brands of magnets?

Ohmigosh I'm freaking out!
I bought all my gifts on ebay!
And I'm so afraid that they won't be here in time for christmas!!
I just wanna make something cheap, and easy to tide everyone over till their gifts get here.

I can draw, I can do a lil hand sewing...

I thought of maybe just baking a bunch of cookies and putting them in gift bags.
But I don't know.

Can someone help me?
:/

I need some ideas!!

I hope this post is okay, I just want to give you guys a chance at a cute free bunny which of course I made. If it's inappropriate feel free to delete it.

I am having a contest to create a little interest over at my Tragic Stitches Blog. The idea is to get people who enter to either add my blog or join my mailing list which you can do my emailing me erina @ tragicstitches . com (with out spaces) and saying add me. Or of course pushing the follow button at the top of the blog. You certainly don't have to do any of that but I sure would appreciate it. Below is the link to my blog where you can enter.

http://tragicstitches.blogspot.com/ feel free to enter, but be sure to leave your email so I can find you if you win. Go check it out the free bunny is real cute... okay here is a pic.

Since you guys always have amazing ideas, I thought I'd ask...

I have 8 of these cute little scrapbooking jars, but I was trying to come up with some ideas for maybe making holiday gifts for my mum and grandmother. Or even for just organizing things.

I have no idea what to use them for, so they're just basically sitting on a shelf, empty, and I'm at a loss.

I do sew, and I thought about maybe using one to hold buttons, but that still leaves 7 jars.
It feels like a waste if they're just sitting there.

So any ideas for organization, or Xmas gifts would be greatly appreciated. (Especially since I don't know what to get my grams, and she's getting me an Xbox 360)
:S

I am also limited on funds. I have some money, but I can't like, load up on expensive things.

Thanks in advance crafters! <3

Ooh! And for those who go out to nightclubs: I've had innumerable problems in the past w/lighting issues when vending my wares. (Either my stuff gets lit well and patrons complain, or my stuff stays in the shadows to keep the spooky atmosphere and my art doesn't get seen.) Would any of you happen to have an idea of how I can adequately light my art & craftwork, w/o blinding people & destroying the dark mood-lighting @ ye local gothy venue? I've done colored lights & that seems to work to a point, but it doesn't offer much actual light, and tends to distort the pieces I've done in color. :P At this point I'm open to almost anything, :)

Many Thanks!
Nae

Hey all! With all of the curmudgeonly crud concerning the holidays floating about me lately, I thought I'd make something for the fashionable Scrooge & so-done Santa hat-wearing public. :) Enter "Humbug Horns!"

See inside cut for images. :) )
They'll be on sale @ Bound where I'll be vending tomorrow night, and might also go up in my etsy store. :) (They'd need better pics of them to go up at my shop, of course.)

Hope you like!

Nae

So lately I've been having a lot of fun figuring out how to display some of my natural history treasures.
I'm really inspired by the victorian way of thinking. Their obsession with natural history, death, trinkets, completely covering your walls like a packrat, decadence... and even taxidermied pets :)
Here's the bulk of my collection and how I've begun to display it. I hope this fits ok here in this community.
I like the variety of goth "strains" here. haha I get so many great ideas from this group!
My goth roots are in old school batcave music.. and yet I have so many other loves.. ;)

shields, feathers, and more.. )

So I live in the mountains and I've been snowed in all week. Gave me lots of time to work on jewelry.
It's been nice to have something small to make for my boutique a lot of my other projects are much more time consuming.
Cabochons are my newest love!

and victorian natural history inspired fur cabochons! )

here! )

I hate christmas. But I dont want to... This is my first christmas without my watchful socially acceptable Jewish/Catholic/Pagan family. I can do christmas my way. I want a somewhat darker not so religions holiday but dont know where to start. I saw someone posted homemade Stockings and I really liked the idea. My husband LOVES christmas in all forms and all religions. Both sets of grandparents, Both sets of parents, my twin sister have all died between November 9th and January 1st. Im hoping by darkening christmas just a little bit and making it more me i can learn to love it. Any ideas would be great.

Thank you in advance.
